There is no single universal treatment for IBS. This is due to the wide and varied range of symptoms that affect different people in different ways.

For many, certain trigger foods and/or stress can cause the symptoms of IBS.

Removing these factors from our lives can sometimes be enough to prevent further IBS attacks, without the need for any kind of medication or further treatment.

Some of the treatments will help you through the pain of an attack of IBS and some are used to try to prevent them from occurring or at least reduce the severity of the symptoms.
