I have found that bananas are an excellent food to calm things down. Apples minus the skin are fine, but not apple juice (you might as well drink battery acid). Mangoes usually don't kick up too much of a fuss. I've had pretty good success with blueberries after eating something I know is safe.

It was a few mouthfuls of apple juice that started me off the other day....fruit and veg certainly don't help me!

I sympathise by: Siān@IBS-Life
Hi Chris,
I understand what you mean about feeling *sensitive* . I have been since before Christmas, and it was nothing to do with the food I was eating, as IBS causes me to keep to a pretty basic diet.
One of the doctors' I see suggested it was brought on by fruit. He said he hated to tell any-one to give up fruit, but that I might have to.
I do find that these bad spells go after a time, but the last two or three years each one has lasted anything up to 12 weeks.
